Knowledge Snack ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Knowledge Snack mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information to provide and improve our service:

• Account information: Email address and password when you create an account.
• Preferences: Topics you select and your preferred content delivery cadence.
• Device information: Device type, operating system, and push notification token (if you opt in to notifications).
• Usage data: Content you view, bookmarks, and listening activity within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Deliver personalized daily knowledge content based on your selected topics.
• Send push notifications with your daily knowledge snack (with your permission).
• Process subscriptions and manage your account.
• Improve our content and app experience.

3. AI-Generated Content

Knowledge Snack uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude API) to generate educational content. AI processing occurs entirely on our servers. Your personal data is never sent to AI providers -- only topic preferences are used to guide content generation.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Database and authentication infrastructure. Your account data is stored securely in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL databases.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and payment processing. RevenueCat processes transactions through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not store your payment card details.
• Expo Push Notifications: Delivery of push notifications to your device. We store your push token to send notifications.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers managed by Supabase. We implement row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Knowledge Snack is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app or via email.
